Score 92-95/100 · Drink 2003-2010, Pierre Rovani, Feb 1998

Maison Louis Jadot's Batard-Montrachet has a super-ripe, intensely floral nose and a massive, muscular, dense, oily-textured, and full-bodied core of sweet fruit. White peaches, poached pears, juniper berries, and oak nuances can be discerned in this opulent yet focused wine. It should be at its peak from 2003-2010. Importer: Kobrand, Inc., New York, NY; (212) 490-9300.

Deep, brooding aromas of honey, tobacco, game; shows a sweet, slightly candied fruit quality. Powerful yet already expressive, with lovely sweetness and superb flavor intensity. Lovely sugar/acid balance gives this a harmoniousness from the outset. A big boy, with its substantial alcohol under control. Superb length.
