Score 92/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Sep 2012

Bright palish yellow. Ripe apple, marzipan and nutty oak on the nose, along with a saline iodiney note. Concentrated, tactile and pure, with salty flavors of white peach, dusty stone and brown spices. At once glyceral and shapely thanks to harmonious acidity, conveying an impression of strong extract. Finishes with good lift and a mounting oakiness that took my score down a notch.

Rich, pure and pretty ripe, restrained by the freshness. Intense and still so primary (hardly surprising). Fruit is so pure, the citrus tastes almost sweet but it is of course dry and really fresh. (JH)
