2009 Riesling vom Stein Smaragd

The golden-colored 2009 Ried Vom Stein Riesling Smaragd opens with a deep, pure and savory bouquet with flint stone notes and matured stone fruit aromas. It's quite developed from this bottle in terms of color and flavors. Full-bodied, rich and quite powerful on the palate, with stewed (stone) fruit flavors and white caramel, this is a savory and saline, even a little astringent-finishing Riesling with good structure and length, even if it is quite developed. There should be better, fresher and more energetic bottles around. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Archive Release 2024. Tasted in January 2025.
