The 2010 Hunting Hill Chardonnay is soft and malleable in the mouth. As per usual for these wines, the acidity remains undiminished, yet the fruit has rounded significantly. There are flavors of crushed nuts, scraped vanilla pod and fresh wafer, and yet this doesn't cover it; there is perhaps more of a waffle character. It's a lovely wine.

Only two cases of this are left at the winery. Savoury nose and the suggestion of a creamy texture. Really tense, lively and limey. Complete. This has definitely aged better than the Coddington 2010. Very concentrated. (JR)

The 2010 Chardonnay Hunting Hill is still a pup at this stage. Compared with more recent vintages, it lacks the substance and intensity, but then again, the vineyard was only planted in 2001. It smells enticing with its lemon meringue, almond, nectarine and integrated oak aromas (much better than the Coddington). This wine consistently proves the winemaker has a well-judged hand. The 2010 shows its more exposed site in its cool, racy finish. It's still remarkably young, but it doesn't quite have the richness or substance that later vintages are now offering.
