Score 92-94/100 · Drink 2003-2010, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2003

The big, bold, and sultry 2001 Chevalier-Montrachet is a highly expressive, fleshy, supple wine packed with spices, pears, and minerals. This white chocolate, truffle, cream, and spice-scented beauty is medium-bodied, concentrated, and sexy. Projected maturity: now-2010. Higher-pitched, minerally nose shows a hint of unconverted malic acid. Much drier and harder to taste than the Bienvenue, but quite fine and not at all heavy or surmuri Leaves behind a subtle perfume in the glass.
