Heavyweight, powerful structure. Potent cherry fruit, but it doesn't seem to have the density of their Clos St-Denis. Enigmatic and difficult to read. (RH)

Deeper colour than the Clos St-Denis and darker fruited, more spicy. Much darker and more savoury on the palate too – so different from the Clos St-Denis – refined tannins are dry but subtle, with an almost imperceptible fragrance returning on the long finish. (JH)
