Pale bright yellow. Overripe peach, apricot and a mealy nuance on the nose. Smooth in texture but the rather exotic apricot flavor could use more zip and lift. The slightly harsh, warm finish shows a muscat-like quality and a faint tart edge.

Has some old vines with lots of Muscat clone, and some young vines. 'So since 2010 I’ve put half the young vines in it and now the Muscat is suppressed by the younger vines of 15 years. It's now more refined.' Very pretty and lively with great balance. Explosive fruit. (JR)
The 2013 Mâcon Uchizy les Maranches had likewise been fined ten days previously. It has a very fine bouquet with expressive citrus fruit, a little more intense than the 2012 perhaps. The palate is fresh and rounded on the entry with fine mineralité, good tension and quite a structured finish. There is good potential in this barrel sample.
