A Shiraz and Grenache blend, the 2013 Wallace has a medium garnet-purple color and notes of kirsch, warm red currants and mulberries with suggestions of spice cake, orange peel and potpourri. Soft, generous and fullbodied, it gives tons of red and black fruit preserves flavors and a spicy undercurrent, finishing long and with a refreshing lift.

(70% shiraz and 30% grenache from old bush vines): Inky purple. Powerful aromas of blueberry, blackberry, woodsmoke and violet. Displays supple, open-knit flavors of smoky dark fruits, mocha and candied flowers, with a peppery element adding lift. Shows very good clarity for its richness, with a sweet floral pastille note carrying through the long, smoky, gently tannic finish.
