Tasted blind at the annual "Burgfest" tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Corton Bressandes Grand Cru from Domaine Follin-Arbelet has a rather flamboyant nose, well defined with a hint of oyster shell infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin and well judged acidity, quite harmonious in the mouth but just lacking a little backbone on the finish. Apart from that, this is a decent Corton albeit falling a little short of my expectations from barrel.

Mid cherry. Woody spice first impression, opening up a little to sweet ripe cherry aroma and a slight note of vanilla. Gently firm, velvety tannins. On the lighter side but persistent. (JH)
