Dark, sumptuous and inviting, the 2014 La Confession has come together very nicely. This ripe, succulent Saint-Émilion can be enjoyed with minimal cellaring. Soft contours and plush fruit give the wine its modern feel and overall personality. This is very nicely done.

An unabashedly extroverted wine, the 2014 La Confession has a lot to offer. Dark red cherry, plum, smoke, tobacco, licorice and new oak meld together in a powerful, extracted St.-Emilion, with new leather and savory herb overtones that develop later. Supple and bold, the 2014 will drink well upon release.

The Château La Confession 2014 has a rather tight-lipped bouquet, the fruit present but not saying much at the moment. It may have possibly been my sample. The palate is sweet and chewy on the entry with spicy red fruit, rather firm tannin with curt finish. I'll reserve judgement to when this wine is in bottle.
