61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc . Tasted blind. Dark crimson. Light, fresh nose. Polished tannins. A real attempt to lighten up. Savoury and rather confident. Quite marked acidity. (JR)

The 2014 Croizet-Bages has quite a powerful bouquet with feisty black fruit, sage and cedar. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin, rigid and hard, quite austere with a short finish that shows a touch of bitterness. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

Tasted blind. Focused, rather elegant Cabernet linear nose. Mouth-filling. This tastes like a particularly fine New World Cabernet – and that is not meant as an insult. Attractive mineral quality on the end. Quite long. (JR)

The 2014 Croizet Bages has a rather high-toned bouquet with very overt floral, almost lavender-like aromas that for me just detracts from Pauillac typicité. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, simple leather-tinged red berry fruit, but it is missing some delineation and grip on the rather monochromatic finish.
