The 2014 La Croix du Casse has much more delineation and complexity on the nose than its second label: black cherry, Hoi Sin plus a touch of cassis emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly honeyed in texture opening. There is smooth dark cherry, bilberry jam and light spicy notes here, although like the Deuxième Vin, it needs more delineation and bite on the finish, which just fades when you yearn for it to gather momentum.
