The core of plum and blackberry fruit is plump, the structure very refined. Hints of black tea and licorice glide through the finish, complemented by subtle minerality.—J.M. Wine Spectator, April 2015.

The 2014 Cote de Baleau has a straightforward and slightly leathery bouquet with ample red berry fruit, mixed here with sage and later, scorched earth. The palate is medium-bodied with fresh red cherry and red peppercorns on the entry. It feels lively and tensile and exudes more energy than the nose, the finish bright and vivid. The structure here suggests that it gained weight during barrel maturation and it will age nicely over the next decade. Mar 2017, www.robertparker.com
