The gorgeous 2011 Saint Chinian La Terre de Mon Pere is comprised of Mourvèdre, Syrah and Grenache that was aged 18 months in new Burgundy barrels. It’s a seamless, full-bodied, elegant red that offers thrilling notes of black raspberries, sweet black cherry, subtle chocolate, and plenty of floral nuances. While the wine is brilliant, the packaging here is horrible, with a super heavy and tapered bottle. Good luck racking this in your cellar. There’s a little over 600 cases, and it’s a great wine.
