Healthy dark red with ruby highlights. Red and black fruit aromas are complicated by menthol and minerals. Offers good texture and breadth, harmoniously combining sweet berry fruit and saline elements. Finishes dry and serious.

The 2014 Chambolle Musigny Village comes from Les Athets and Les Herbeux. It has a fleshy, slightly meaty red berry fruit on the nose that just needs to coalesce a little more. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin that render this quite austere, more Morey-Saint-Denis in style. I would just like a little more flesh and volume to come through on the finish, but maybe bottle age will assist this wine.
