Score 94+/100 · Drink 2032-2034, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jun 2016

(this wine was aged in one new and one five-year-old barrel): Bright light yellow. Aromas of fresh peach, white flowers, liquid rock and medicinal herbs. Enters the mouth fine-grained and lush, then turns firmer and a bit austere, in the style of the Bienvenues. But this energetic, deep wine is longer and more refined on the palate-staining aftertaste. These grand crus were bottled in April of this year and Germain noted that they got better and better through their long élevage.

(from purchased grapes): Bright yellow with a green tinge. Aromas of crushed stone, pear drop and lime. At once elegant and powerful, displaying terrific depth to its saline flavors of lime and white peach. Finishes tactile, salty and very long, with an echoing note of crushed rock. These vines are situated just above La Cabotte, says Germain.
