Very pale. Strongly vegy nose. And very tense and a bit unyielding on the palate. The opposite of charming. Extremely stolid. (JR)

The 2014 Puligny-Montrachet Villages has a crisp and linear bouquet with touches of lime leaf and grass clippings. There is fine mineralité here. The palate is clean and fresh, just a touch of reduction on the entry, but there is certainly good weight on the mid-palate, quite rich for a 2014 with a smear of honey towards the finish. This is a perfect introduction to the delights of Jacques Carillon's winemaking. Tasted October 2016.

Bottled end of March 2016. A blend of eight different parcels. Quite a piercing nose with lots of wet stoniness. Masses of acidity! Very youthful and austere at this point. (JR)

(bottled in March): Slightly reduced, soil-driven scents of peach, truffle and porcini. Nicely balanced and ripe but with lovely lemony cut to its saline mineral and apple flavors. I find this more energetic than its 2015 sibling.
