Very ripe black fruit on the nose and even a hint of treacle! Voluptuous. Relatively refined and ‘cool’ for an Australian red. Nothing remotely like a Barossa wine. Hint of sage on the finish. Good stuff. Serious and minerally. Very savoury. (JR)

75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc. Bright ruby. Sweet, evolved and with a suggestion of a green streak. Very sweet start. A little angular. Still needs to fill in the holes. It's all muscle for the moment. Lots of fine tannins on the end. Just a bit hollow for the moment. (JR)

Dark crimson. Intense and savoury on the nose. Lots of chewy stones on the finish – very dry but only after some very satisfyingly ripe, complex, even intellectual fruit. (JR)

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, the medium to deep garnet-purple colored 2012 Gaia Proprietary Red presents an attractive nose of cassis, blackberries and plums with nunaces of pencil shavings, menthol, cloves and toast. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly framed by fine tannins and nice freshness before finishing long.
