Score 93/100 · Drink 2024-2035, Neal Martin, Oct 2024

The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet Chenevottes 1er Cru has a complex, almost Chablis-like bouquet, with hints of white mushroom and cool glade aromas. The palate is beautifully balanced and quite intense, with wonderful acidity, poise and hints of walnut and smoke toward the finish. This is drinking beautifully now.

The 2014 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru les Chenevottes is more closed and backward on the nose compared to the Encégnières with scents of lemon thyme and yellow plum eventually emerging. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity, although it needs a little more substance and presence on the finish. Good, but not the best from the domaine this year.
