Elegant. Lovely freshness paired with an excellent concentration. Exotic flavours of bright blackberry and blueberry, enhanced by chocolate notes. Nutty and full-bodied. Long, sedate finish.

The 2015 Beauregard has an intense bouquet with black cherries, boysenberry and smoky/tobacco aromas, more precocious than some of its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip, foursquare and conservative in style and yet I appreciate its delineation and poise, with a persistent and mineral-driven finish. This is a very good performance and suggests some melioration in bottle. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting.

Tasted blind. Dark crimson. Heady and rather exotic nose. Sweet and perfumed. Really rather hedonistic. Long and plush. (JR)
