The 2015 Lafleur-Gazin has a light nose of crushed strawberry, loam and tobacco. This is perhaps missing some vigor, but it's more cohesive than the preceding Lagrange (Pomerol). The palate has a touch of mint on the entry, light tannins and a little dryness creeping in with truffle on the finish. This is not bad, though I would drink it sooner rather than later. Tasted at the 2015 Ten-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index.

Pomerol signature, exuberant, welcoming and juicy, with espresso and cocoa bean woven through juicy damson and black cherry fruit, a flash of heat but well balanced by grippy acidity and supple tannins. This is good quality, ready to go. Moueix family owners.

The 2015 Lafleur-Gazin remains quite powerful and intense, but now shows much better balance, especially in its tannins, than it did from barrel. Super-ripe red cherry, tobacco, dried flowers, herbs and spices add layers of complexity. I expect the 2015 will offer its best drinking sooner rather than later, as the flavors are already a touch advanced and roasted in profile.

Produced mainly from Merlot with just 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2015 Lafleur-Gazin has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and is scented of warm black cherries, black raspberries, forest floor and red roses with touches of bay leaves and new leather. The medium to full-bodied palate has a firm foundation of chewy tannins and just enough freshness curtailing the intense black and red fruit flavors, finishing with a lovely herbal lift.
