Pale-mid ruby-garnet. Pea-pod and stem leafiness. Clay-like earthy minerality over crunchy, leafy red cherry. Crisp acidity with leafy whole-bunch notes, spice and chewy, fairly firm tannins. Warming, peppery finish. (TJ)

Mid crimson. Immediately more savoury than the Craggy Range Aroha 2015 Te Muna but also a touch stemmy. Savoury and earthy on the palate, a very different style. Compact, slightly chewy tannins. Lacks the charm of the Central Otago wines but has plenty of power and length. (JH)

The 2014 Kupe Chardonnay offers savory, baking bread and yeast extract notes with grapefruit and orange blossoms. This satiny textured, medium-bodied Chardonnay is finely knit with tons of freshness and a long mineral-laced finish.
