Tasting notes
Score 90-93/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Nov 2016

(13.5% alcohol; vinified entirely with whole clusters): Bright ruby-red. Sappy, liqueur-like scents of crushed cherry and tropical dark chocolate. High-toned, superripe and impressively concentrated, showing a strong torrefaction character in the mouth and finishing with serious breadth and a huge tannic structure. Almost too much today, with the dark chocolate quality repeating on the finish. This will merit a score at the high end of my projected range if it shows more focus and lift by the time it goes into bottle.
