The 2015 Chambolle Musigny Village has a precocious bouquet with blueberry and raspberry fruit, bright and lively. The palate is sweet on the entry with orange sorbet notes filtering through the red cherry fruit, landing with a defined, quite vivacious finish. This is one of my picks for Méo-Camuzet's négoçiant selection along with the Fixin Clos du Chapître. Keep your eyes peeled for this one.

Bright ruby-red. Medicinal black cherry, spices, licorice and crushed stone on the nose. Nicely concentrated, broad village wine with flavors of black raspberry and licorice accented by violet and supported by seriously chewy tannins for Chambolle. The most palate-staining of these village négociant wines in the early going, although the finish also brings an impression of chocolatey ripeness (the alcohol here is close to 14%).

(from Les Athets and Les Herbues). This is the first wine to display much in the way of discernible wood and it remains subtle on the black cherry, pomegranate and floral-scented nose. There is solid volume to the succulent and very ripe medium-bodied flavors that exude a discreet minerality on the somewhat warm finale. This is pretty but the balance isn’t perfect.
