(30% vendange entier ): Bright, dark red-ruby. High-toned aromas of black cherry, black raspberry and licorice are complemented by musky soil tones. Thick, dense, creamy and sweet, but with noteworthy energy to its black raspberry, mocha and spice flavors. A very large-scaled Savigny-lès-Beaune with fine-grained tannins and shocking floral and cardamom lift.

Cask sample. Plum and jasmine – expressive and charismatic on the nose. Juicy, vibrant and rich without heaviness – encapsulates the magic of burgundy – full of flavour yet effortless, and structural yet accessible. Finishes with a lifted eucalyptus character. (RH)

The 2015 Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Fourneaux includes around 15% whole bunch, which is less than usual. It has a rich and opulent bouquet with lush red fruit, dates and fresh fig, a wine that is flirting with over-ripeness. The palate is rich and quite decadent on the entry, layers of kirsch, creme de cassis and blueberry fruit with a chewy finish that needs to manifest more grace and precision by the time of bottling.
