Cask sample. Racked in September for bottling in March 2017. Just next to Montrachet. From Bruno’s uncle. Serious depth of concentration – very like a grand cru. Lots of depth and stuffing. A bit more savoury than the average Bâtard. Very long. (JR)

Subtle aromas of pear, pineapple and menthol, with a touch of mineral firmness; more focused than most of these 2015s. In a spicy if slightly edgy, brooding style, conveying an impression of sound acidity. Showing limited personality today but finishes with good length and grip. Colin's vines in Blanchot Dessus are in a cuvette and are never stressed by drought, noted assistant Pauline Genot, who added that these vines, as well as those in Vergers and Chenevottes, were almost 100% frosted in 2016.
