I have a soft spot for this terroir … and this is a lovely energetic Chambolle 1er in the making. The bouquet offer lovely red berry fruit – fresh and detailed with a nice slightly more earthy Chambolle minerality. On the palate very fine intensity and energy – lovely depth with layers of vibrant fruit and a bit more structure than the sexy Chambolle Charmes. This is a gorgeous wine. Jun 2016, www.winehog.org

Both red and dark cherry nuances are present on the plum, anise and violet-scented nose. There is excellent richness and even more volume to the caressing and concentrated middle weight plus flavors that culminate in a firm, robust and distinctly powerful finish. This is a Chambolle 1er that is more Bonnes Mares in character than lace and finesse so at least some patience is advised. Dec 2016, www.burghound.com
