Score 95/100 · Drink 2020-2045, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Nov 2017

Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting, Bachelet's 2014 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru was showing more reduction than the Bienvenues from Vincent Girardin tasted alongside and therefore did not exude quite the same level of detail. The palate is also showing a bit of reduction, with a keen thread of acidity maintaining satisfactory freshness, and there is certainly commendable weight on the finish. This clearly needs several years in bottle to address the SO2, but I have no doubt it will be subsumed. The finish has splendid structure and one of the most persistent aftertastes.
