Luscious, forward, ripe, round, chocolate coated, plum, and black cherry-filled wine with licorice and espresso notes on the nose, in the palate, and in the finish. This is fully ready to go, just pop, pour and enjoy. Drink from 2023-2028.

A brilliant Fronsac made with advice from consultant Claude Gros, the 2016 Château de La Rivière checks in as 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Brought up in 50% new oak, it offers a medium to full-bodied, seamless, elegant style as well as lots of earthy, gravelly minerality, leafy herbs, and ripe black cherries. With fine tannins, impressive balance, and a great finish, it’s high class and will impress for a decade.
