Tasting notes
Score 92/100 · Drink 2023-2030, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux, Sep 2023

Fresh floral notes from the opening moments of the wine, rose petals and peonies. Relatively high acidity for a 2016 vintage, this majors on raspberry and redcurrant fruits and is juicy, with a sappy mouthwatering finish. Lighter in colour and expression than the other 2016s in the lineup, and one to drink now and over the next decade. Located on one of highest points of the Margaux appellation, an enjoyable example of the vintage. Philippe Raoux owner.

The fragrant ripe-blackberry nose leads into this rather powerful Margaux with plenty of structure, the tannins building nicely on the long, moderately firm finish. Drink or hold.

The 2016 d'Arsac is absolutely gorgeous. Freshly cut flowers, bright, red-toned fruit and silky tannins all give the 2016 considerable allure as well as charm. Medium in body and open-knit, the 2016 is a stellar everyday wine to drink now and over the next few years.
