From the Côtes de Bordeaux region, the 2016 Château Reaut has a plump, rounded, enjoyable style to go with plenty of black and blue fruits, some leafy, herbal notes, good acidity, and a clean, balanced finish. Drink it over the coming 5-7 years.

The 2016 Réaut has a classy bouquet of graphite-infused black fruit. The palate is well defined, offering supple tannin, plenty of pure black cherry and raspberry fruit and a silky-smooth finish. This Côtes de Bordeaux comes recommended.

I love the ripe blackcurrants, blueberries and delicate herbs in this wine. They enable it to carry the generous dry tannins very well and they drive the long finish. A blend of 58 per cent merlot, 37 per cent cabernet sauvignon and five per cent cabernet franc. Needs some time to resolve all the structure, so better from 2020.

A racy wine, the 2016 Reaut offers terrific depth in its sweet dark cherry and plum fruit. This mid-weight, juicy Côtes de Bordeaux will offer tons of pleasure, especially over the next handful of years. Tasted two times.
