The 2015 Barossa & Eden Valleys Shiraz is looking superb today. The Eden Valley component is shining here with quartz and raspberry pip, clove, dark chocolate/cocoa and roast beef crust. It's gorgeous. There's plenty of time left here. 14.5% alcohol, sealed under natural cork.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Barossa & Eden Valleys Shiraz delivers expressive red currant, black cherry and crushed blackberry notes over hints of baking spices, garrigue, black pepper and lavender. Medium to full-bodied and very finely textured with silken, fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness, it has wonderful length and depth.
50% Barossa (70+ years, top-grafted on Riesling 20 years ago – works 'like tomato on basil' says Dave Powell), 50% Eden Valley (50+ years). From the first two vineyard that went into Torbreck's Steading. 15 months in 45 hl foudres. 1,000 cases of 12. Inky purple crimson with black core. Savoury and spicy, fine dry texture. Smooth tannins, cool and long. Gentle but persistent. There’s fruit depth yet a lightness of touch. Dark and just slightly chewy on the finish. (JH)
