This is aromatically similar to the straight cuvée except that it's slightly more elegant and is presently displaying menthol and spice nuances. There is better mid-palate concentration to the more powerful middle weight flavors that also deliver better overall depth and persistence on the more structured finale. This is also very definitely built-to-age and I wouldn't touch a bottle before it has at least 5 years of age and 10 would not be too much.

The 2014 Moulin A Vent la Rochelle, which spent 18 months in oak barrel, has plenty of fruit on the nose: crushed strawberry, red cherries and black plum. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent fleshy red cherry fruit, the oak nicely integrated and lifted the rounded and harmonious, almost pastille-like finish. Warning: you will finish a bottle far quicker than you anticipate, so have another handy.

Brilliant ruby. Suave red and blue fruit aromas show excellent clarity and are enlivened by smoky mineral and Indian spice flourishes. Sappy, sweet and expansive, offering intense boysenberry, cherry liqueur and floral pastille flavors and a hint of white pepper. Conveys a suave blend of richness and vivacity and finishes with smooth tannins and an intense echo of sweet blue fruit.
