Score 88/100 · Drink 2016-2018, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Oct 2016

The 2008 Beaune 1er Cru Les Perrières looked mature in the glass with a wide, degraded tawny rim. The nose is pleasant, a little lightweight with ferrous, red fruit that seems fully mature. This bouquet is not going to improve with further bottle age. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, attractive tea-stained red fruit, smooth and harmonious in the mouth, if missing density on the finish. That is by-the-by -- this is a well-crafted Pinot Noir that you will finish all too easily. But drink sooner rather than later. Tasted September 2016.

Fully mature and just a little lacking fruit in the middle. A bit austere – but perhaps it’s the vintage? (JR)
