Score 93+/100 · Drink 2025-2037, Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Mar 2017

Bright, dark red. Sappy scents of black cherry, cassis, minerals and spices. By far the deepest and richest of these 2014s, with its enticing sucrosité perfectly supported by bright acidity and underlying minerality. This energetic, sharply delineated wine is a baby, but even today its firm tannins avoid hardness. Should enjoy a graceful and long evolution in the cellar.

Deep, bright red. Reticent aromas of black and red cherry flesh and pit, plus a note of licorice. Dense, sappy and classic, showing terrific verve and grip to its dark cherry, sweet oak and mint flavors. Really saturates the palate on the very long, rising aftertaste, showing a lovely sweetness from the oak element. This superb Echézeaux should enjoy a long life.
