The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Perseid is deep and beautifully resonant. Black cherry, mocha, espresso, licorice and grilled herbs fill out the wine's broad, ample frame. Despite its obvious size and volume, the 2013 possesses impeccable balance especially in its tannins. Sweet tobacco, licorice and dried herbs add lovely aromatic complexity throughout.

The opaque blue/purple 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Perseid, from vineyard in the southeast sector of Napa Valley, really is strutting its stuff. It's backward, shows loads of minerality and earth, but the tannic structure is strong, the wine inky purple with plenty of blackberry and cassis. The mouth layers are incredible and the finish just goes on and on. This is a remarkable effort that should age effortlessly for 25-30 years. In fact it probably won't be even hitting its plateau for another 5-6 years.
