Shares the same kind of toasty maturity that you associate with Hunter Smillon, coupled with excessive dairy character that leaves an overripe cheese flavour on the palate which upstages the fruit, for me. Incredibly flavoursome, but the secondary character is distractingly incongruous. (RH)

This has impressive power and the gentle weathering of five years in bottle has delivered a wine with immense charm. Lemon and quartz, from start to finish, smoky minerals, fine-etched acidity, and great length. A benchmark. Drink now or hold for another decade or maybe two! Screw cap.

It's toasty yet fresh. It's complex yet approachable. A glorious amalgam of flavours from glace lemon and lime, juicy with superfine acidity ensuring it's in a good spot today and for some time yet.
