Domaine Dujac's 2015 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes opens in the glass with a youthful bouquet of pear, preserved lemon, nutmeg and wheat toast. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, concentrated and chewy with extract, but its texture and amplitude are balanced by succulent acids, structural tension and nice grip on the finish.

The 2015 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes is quite a bit more structured and phenolic in feel than the Folatières tasted alongside it. The overall impression is of power and intensity, but with a bit less of the open-knit, seductive style found in its Puligny cousin. - Antonio Galloni

Much older vines. More intense and savoury. Racy and round and a lovely texture with a savoury undertow. (JR)
