Tasted blind. Deep ruby colour. Camphor and mint oil on the nose, this is savoury. Lithe and linear, with bright red fruit and cedar at the core. Zippy acids that make it a little lean on the finish. (TP)

The 2017 Croizet-Bages is bold, racy and super-expressive. Dark red cherry, smoke, licorice, tobacco and incense give this supple, impeccably balanced Pauillac tons of character. Croizet-Bages is very nicely done. The tannins need time to soften, but there is certainly a lot to look forward to.
Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, the 2017 Croizet Bages gives up understated notes of plum preserves, mulberries and cassis with nuances of sauteed herbs, tree bark and fungi. Medium-bodied, the palate has just enough black fruit and chewy texture, finishing savory.
65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot. Dark crimson – even blackish. Piercing cassis nose. Sweet start and easy, mouth-filling fruit. Still slightly raw and edgy (not much evidence of super-ripe fruit) but respectable. Just a tad simple. (JR)
