The 2017 Vieux Château Palon is powerful, deep and super-expressive. A blast of inky dark fruit, chocolate, licorice, leather and spice gives this bold wine much of its flamboyant, up-front personality. There is plenty to like here. The 2017 is a juicy, pleasantly rustic wine to enjoy over the next handful of years.

The 2017 Vieux Château Palon makes a strong first impression with a blast of ripe, jammy red fruit. It will be interesting to see if aging softens some of the contours and helps the wine find better balance.
The big, spicy, exuberant 2017 Vieux Château Palon dishes up serious amounts of black raspberries, vanilla bean, spice, and orange blossom notes in its exotic, medium to full-bodied personality. It has considerable charm, notable complexity, and ripe tannin, and I suspect will certainly be an outstanding wine.
