Score 89-91/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Apr 2018

The second wine of La Gaffelière, based on mostly Merlot brought up in 30% oak (the rest in tank), the 2017 Clos la Gaffelière reveals a deep, inky color to with a fresh, focused bouquet of black raspberries, crushed rock, spice, and dried flowers. With medium to full-bodied richness, a distinct salinity, and a great finish, it's a serious second wine that's ideal for drinking over the coming 7-8 years or more.

A St.-Emilion with deep fruit and spice character and some freshness, too. Full-bodied, textured and delicious already.
