Composed of 40% Sémillon, 40% Sauvignon Blanc and 20% Muscadelle and cropped at three bunches to the vine, the 2017 Le Nardian has a gorgeous peaches, pineapple and green mango nose with honeysuckle and beeswax notions plus a waft of orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied with great intensity and freshness, loads of tropical and stone fruit layers and a long gregarious finish.

The 2017 Le Nardian was picked from 30 August to 5 September. It is the most alcoholic of Maltus’s wines this year at 14.2° and matured in 50% new oak. It has a perfumed nose with lime cordial, pineapple and yellow plum, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is well balanced with a creamy-textured entry, a fine bead of acidity, subtle touches of tropical fruit – nectarine, pineapple again and a touch of ginger towards the finish. Enjoy this over the next two to five years.
