Score 87/100 · Drink 2018-2020, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Jan 2019

The 2016 Hautes Côtes de Nuits offers up aromas of sweet red berries and rich soil tones, followed by a medium-bodied, tangy palate that can't match the 2017 rendition's explosive fruit.

Palish medium red. Sappy aromas of red cherry and pomegranate. Juicy, leanish and thirst-quenching, with its red fruit flavors accented by flowers and spices. Finishes with supple tannins. This fruit was harvested at 12% and chaptalized to 12.5%, and the wine has the highest pH among these 2016s, at 3.65. Fun to drink.

From Concoeur (west of Vosne). A year in cask. Six weeks in tank and soon to be bottled. Pale crimson. Hint of chestnuts on the nose and very juicy, sweet fruit on the palate – but very light bodied. Fairly simple. (JR)
