(these frosted vines yielded only about 28 hectoliters per hectare in 2016, according to Colin--a considerably lower figure than the one provided by his assistant last year): Tight nose dominated by lemon, grapefruit and minerals. A distinctly taut version of Morgeot; less peachy and broad than usual for this bottling, hinting at licorice and menthol today. Finishes with good length but I wanted more give.

From the Francemont lieu-dit in the south of Morgeot. Tank sample. Lifted and heady. Undertow of depth and concentration. Drier than most with lots and lots to chew on. (JR)

(40 hectoliters per hectare): Aromas of lemon cream, pear, white flowers and white pepper, plus a whiff of menthol. Smooth in texture but quite dry, even austere, conveying a touch of mineral reduction to its flavors of lemon peel, white peach and grapefruit zest. Colin's vines are situated in the lieu-dit Francemont.
