(the crop here was down 70% from normal): An aroma of bitter lemon ice plus a whiff of medicinal menthol. Nicely concentrated but a slightly bitter-edged citric quality gives the wine a rather austere character and limits its appeal today. This may well be in a closed phase following the March bottling, as there's also good stuffing and length here.

Tank sample. Deep gold. Broad nose and then very glamorous palate. Good tension on the end and easy to like. Restaurant wine? Not necessarily for the very long term though. Good persistence. (JR)
