Tasting notes
FINE+RARE, Aug 2019

The Jacquelottes has a fresh and fragrant nose of sweet lemon, ginger, white pepper, white flowers and a chalky stoniness. The palate is ripe but firm, with white peach, a hint of passion fruit, a creamy viscosity and nicely judged weight that is beautifully balanced by the fresh acidity. A precise line of tension runs through the middle, surrounded by ample body and velvety texture, and finishing in a fresh, pithy citrus and chalky finale. In this trio, the Jacquelotte is the richest and most opulent, whilst retaining freshness and tension.

Bright lemon-yellow. Subdued aroma of ripe peach, with a hint of flowers. Offers good energy and depth to its smoky, musky stone fruit flavors. The wine's minerality is apparent on the firm, rising back end, which is the longest of these 2017s to this point but a bit youthfully harsh without being dry. These vines are about 45 years of age, which Pernot does not consider to be especially old.
