The 2015 Vosne-Romanée Les Rouges du Dessus 1er Cru is a dense, pliant wine. Here the flavors are deep and boldly, sketched, two themes that carry through to the textural feel as well. Cherry pit, smoke, spice, leather and tobacco add aromatic nuance, but it is the wine's overall intensity that differentiates most within this lineup and from the wine Burguet makes from the villages-level portion of this site. This is an especially masculine Vosne with all the elements in the right place. New oak is around 30%. - Antonio Galloni

The 2015 Vosne Romanee les Rouges du Dessus 1er Cru is more expressive on the nose compared to the village cru with raspberry and wild strawberry scents, plus a touch of autumn leaves. The palate is pretty and well balanced. There is moderate depth here, a little conservative compared to others, with a slightly brusque finish that leaves the imbiber wanting more.
