The 2017 Meursault Village comes from two or three parcels close to Santenots-de-Dessus. It has a well defined, if slightly static bouquet at the moment, hints of orange rind and beeswax. The palate is more vigorous with a keen thread of acidity, lightly spiced with just a touch of dried honey towards the finish. Good potential, but it probably needs time.

The 2017 Meursault Village is very pretty, offering up an expressive bouquet of pear, crisp peach and lemon oil. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, satiny and tangy, with juicy acids and a precise finish.

Barrel sample. Fined in January and bottled in March. Three parcels. A spicy, creamy nose with just a touch of clementine. Rich and rounded in the mouth. Deep and rich but makes you salivate with that salty character. Rich and piercing at the same time. Gorgeous fullness in the mouth but tight on the finish. (JH)
