Coming from 60-year-old vines and brought up in 15% new oak, the 2017 Meursault Les Vieilles Vignes offers a solid bouquet of stone fruits and buttered citrus as well as green almonds and white flowers. Nicely textured, medium-bodied, and elegant on the palate, with a subtle sense of minerality on the finish, it’s an outstanding, classy Meursault to enjoy over the coming 7-8 years or so.

Bottled. A little more rounded than the Pernand Vieilles Vignes but not a big step up for the price difference. Unexpectedly persistent. (JH)
