Vivid magenta. Blackberry, licorice, candied flowers and a touch of gaminess on the deeply perfumed nose. Appealingly sweet and chewy on the palate, showing very good heft and focus to the dark berry and bitter cherry flavors. Becomes sweeter with aeration and picks up a spicy nuance that carries through a very long, floral-tinged finish framed by solid, gripping tannins.

A very attractive nose with bright strawberry and cherry aromas, leading to a very elegant yet structured palate that offers a long and fresh finish. Drink or hold.

The 2016 Morgon Côte du Py offers up a complex nose of sweet red cherries, strawberries and smoky plums, followed by a medium-bodied, juicy and succulent palate that's fine-grained and nicely balanced. It's a definite success.
